Divisions allow a more competitive pairing of teams, leading to more competitive and entertaining outcomes.

Teams are eliminated from further 3×3 competition with a second loss in the Losers’ Bracket. Here’s a look at each round:

Round 1: 0 teams eliminated

Teams do not face elimination in the initial round of the double-elimination format. Instead, every team that is defeated in their first game gets a chance to compete in a second game within the loser’s bracket.

Round 2: Two teams eliminated

In the second round, the four teams that lost in round 1 will compete against each other in the Loser’s Bracket. The winners will continue, and the losers eliminated. Therefore, two teams will be eliminated in round 2.

Round 3: Winner’s Bracket and Loser’s Bracket.

In this round, the four teams that won in round 1 will compete against each other in the Winner’s Bracket. The two winners will move to the Winner’s Bracket finals, while the two losers will be sent to the Loser’s Bracket.

At the same time, in the Loser’s Bracket, the four teams that lost in round 2 will compete against each other. The two winners will move on, and the two losers will be eliminated.

So, in round 3, two teams will be eliminated in the Loser’s Bracket.

Round 4: Winner’s Bracket finals and Loser’s Bracket games. In this round, the team that won the Winner’s Bracket finals will move on to the Championship round, while the team that lost will move to the Loser’s Bracket finals.

In the Loser’s Bracket, the team that won in round 3 will compete against the team that lost in the Winner’s Bracket finals. The winner will move on to the Loser’s Bracket finals, while the loser will be eliminated.

Therefore, in round 4, 1 team will be eliminated in the Loser’s Bracket.

Round 5: Championship round and Loser’s Bracket finals

In this round, the team that won the Winner’s Bracket will compete against the team that won the Loser’s Bracket finals. The winner will be crowned the champion, while the loser will be the runner-up.

In a double-elimination 8-team bracket, the number of teams eliminated each round until crowning a champion is as follows:

– Round 1 (Winners’ Bracket): 0 teams eliminated

– Round 2 (Winners’ Bracket): 0 teams eliminated

– Round 2 (Losers’ Bracket): 2 teams eliminated

– Round 3 (Winners’ Bracket): 0 teams eliminated
