LegalHoops seeks a motivated and experienced Contest Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of individual and team contests, including Catch-and-Shoot, Free-Throw Shooting, and Two-Point Shootouts. The Contest Manager will be responsible for providing an exceptional experience for participants, ensuring seamless execution of contests, and promoting the company’s brand and image. This position reports directly to the Tournament Chair.
Responsibilities:
1. Contest Planning and Organization:
– Develop, plan, and execute various individual and team contests per LegalHoops’ guidelines and rules.
– Coordinate with the Events Commissioners to create contest schedules, including timings, participant allocations, and court arrangements.
– Ensure equipment, such as basketballs, scoreboards, timers, and safety materials, are available and in proper working condition before each contest.
– Determine appropriate contest formats and rules, ensuring fairness and accuracy.
2. Contest Execution and Management:
– Oversee the smooth and efficient execution of all contests, ensuring proper adherence to contest rules and regulations.
– Establish and maintain effective communication with participants, explaining rules, providing necessary instructions, and resolving queries or concerns.
– Coordinate with referees or officials assigned to each contest to guarantee fair play and accurate scoring.
– Monitor contest progress and promptly address any technical or logistical issues that may arise.
– Ensure the safety of participants, closely observing contest activities to prevent any accidents or injuries.
3. Participant Engagement and Promotion:
– Foster a positive and welcoming environment for participants, ensuring their satisfaction and enjoyment throughout the contests.
– Encourage active engagement and interaction among participants, maintaining a high energy level and promoting friendly competition.
– Assist with creating and implementing marketing strategies to increase participation in LegalHoops’ contests.
– Actively contribute to the company’s social media presence by capturing and sharing engaging content during contests.
4. Results Management and Analysis:
– Collect, record, and manage contest results accurately and efficiently.
– Compile comprehensive data and statistics from each contest for further analysis and improvement.
– Collaborate with the Events Coordinator and marketing team to utilize contest data for promotional activities and improve future events.
– Conduct post-contest evaluations with participants, seeking feedback and suggestions for improvement.
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Event Planning, or a related field.
– Proven experience (X years) in managing and organizing sports contests or events, preferably basketball-related.
– Strong knowledge of basketball rules and contest formats.
– Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
– Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and interact with participants in a professional and friendly manner.
– Detail-oriented mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
– Ability to remain composed and make quick decisions under pressure.
– Proficient in standard office software and familiarity with scorekeeping software or similar tools.
– Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
