Cameras increasingly capture images of police violating rights. As more police are prosecuted based on digital evidence produced by a first, second, or third camera, police are learning how dangerous cameras can be to officers that violate rights. With the growing use of cameras, police must ultimately recognize that abuse anywhere in public is too risky for them.

Until then, bodycams worn only by police are not the cure-all as non-compliant police fail to wear them. They also continue challenging the right to videotape, often confiscating cameras from victims and witnesses, compromising evidence of their transgressions.
